YES! Expo takes place at a pivotal time in attracting youth to science and engineering education. Recent statistics indicate that college-bound students who take the ACT test are losing interest in science and engineering education (See graph below).

As a result of this decline, industry leaders are worried that there will not be enough skilled engineers, scientists, and technicians to fill the growing number of high-tech jobs. Increasing the number of engineers and scientists is extremely important to the future of our nation’s industry and economy. In addition, minorities and women are vastly underrepresented in all areas of engineering and science.
